We have integrated with a company called Twilio. This will allow you to text message your clients from your own dedicated phone number and allow clients to text you back.
In order to use this integration, you will first set up an account with Twilio.com and then take the info provided by Twilio for your settings in our system. Instructions are below:
Step 1: Sign up for Twilio. Visit http://www.twilio.com and click the Sign-up link at the top to sign up. You’ll be asked to insert your name, email address, and a password. You’ll also be asked 3 questions:
- Which product do you plan to use first? Select, SM5
- What are you building? Select, I don’t have a project in mind yet
- Choose your language: Select, I’m not a developer
Step 2: Log in to the account. Login from http://twilio.com/login.
Step 3: Set up your API Credentials. In the console dashboards account summary area, click the Accounts Details link.
Scroll down to the API Credentials. Under the Live Credentials area, click the eyeball under Auth Token.
You will see both the auth token and the account sid number.
Step 4: Enter Trilio Credentials.
In ServiceMonster, go to Marketplace> Select Twilio > Select Configuration Tab.
Copy and paste each credential (Account SID and Auth Token) from Twilio into your account:
Step 5: Select a Sending Phone Number. In the Console scroll down and click on # Phone Numbers:
Click on the “+” image to buy a number. Search by your area code in order to find numbers in your area.
Step 5: Update sending number. Copy this sending phone number into your Twilio marketplace configuration page under the Sending Phone Number field. The formatting should be like this: +1 850-555-5555. Then click update, and you’re done as far as what you need in your ServiceMonster account.
Step 6: Verify the phone number. In the phone number area of Twilio, click on Verified Caller IDS and click the “+”.
The Verify a Phone Number screen will pop up. Enter your phone number and they will call you with a verification code.
Step 7. Add funds. Fund the account by visiting:http://www.twilio.com/console/billing Twilio charges start at $0.0075 to send or receive a message. See pricing here: https://www.twilio.com/sms/pricing/us
