Setting Up & Using Text Reminders

Setting Up & Using Text Reminders

3 ESSENTIAL STEPS TO SETTING UP AND USING TEXT REMINDERS:

1. Create text templates
2. Set your preferences under Job Reminders
3. Assign customers to receive text reminders

**Please keep in mind, to change the default phone number associated with text reminders, go to Twilio > Marketplace (Navigator). Call support for help.

CREATE TEXT TEMPLATES:

  • SETTINGS (Navigator) > TEMPLATES > SMS TEMPLATES (subtab) > NEW SMS TEMPLATE (upper left)
  • NAME: what do you want to call this template?
  • Write the body of the message (limited to 160 characters)
  • Assign data tags if desired (included in 160 character limit)
  • SAVE (top left)

SETTING PREFERENCES UNDER JOB REMINDERS:

  • SETTINGS (Navigator) > JOB REMINDERS > PREFERENCES (middle top)
  • “System will create appointment reminders for ALL jobs” = automatically send out reminders
  • “I will manually create appointment reminders from Quick Add” = manually create reminders for each job every time
  • Choose based on personal preference, but we recommend the automatic option
  • SAVE
  •  > NEW NOTIFICATION SETTING
  • NAME = what do you want to call this new notification setting?
  • ACTIVE = check to activate, uncheck to deactivate
  • SEND = (E-mail or Text) (Any Number) (Hours or Days) – Example: Text 1 day (before job time)
  • SAVE

ASSIGN CUSTOMERS TO RECEIVE TEXT REMINDERS:

  • Go to whatever ACCOUNT you want to assign text reminders to
  • Click on small thought bubble button to the right of the account’s phone number
  • You must manually assign text reminders…ServiceMonster 6 does NOT automatically do this for you
